The Technique.

Fix your me-mades with this one simple fitting technique...

Choose your size based on your high bust measurement, then do a full bust adjustment to create enough space for your full bust.

This one technique will massively improve the fit of your me-mades.

You can calculate the high bust measurement of the sewing pattern by subtracting 2" or 5 cm from the bust.

Example

If your high bust measurement is 35" then you would choose a size 12.

**Top tip. If you are in-between sizes, size down!

Then calculate the full bust adjustment (FBA) you need by noting the difference between your full bust and the full bust of the pattern.

Example

You have chosen a size 12. Your full bust is 42". You need a 5" FBA.

Sewing patterns are made according to “standard sizing”, which means there are certain aspects of the fit that we can predict.

One of these aspects is the difference between the high and full bust measurements, which creates the cup size. The industry standard is 2" across all the sizes in the range.

**caveat. Sewing patterns that offer different cup sizes will make that very clear in their packaging!

How to Measure Yourself...

Sewing patterns will refer to the bust in their size chart, and will be referring to the full bust.

Have a go at measuring yours. Is the difference between your high and full bust more than 2"?
